VSAC NON-DEGREE GRANT INFORMATION
Our mission is to make Temenos Vermont's trainings and classes affordable for all students. That's why we've teamed up with Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) and their non-degree grant program to make this a reality. Now, future students have more financial options when pursuing their path with Temenos VT to increase their employability.
Below is information about the VSAC Non-Degree Grant program you may be eligible for. If you do not meet their eligibility requirements, please contact us to discuss a of our sliding scale scholarship fees or payment plans.
VSAC NON-DEGREE GRANT PROGRAM
All Temenos VT courses have been approved by VSAC to accept Non-Degree Grants for employment training to cover the cost of our training programs in full.
To be eligible, participants must:
- Enroll in a course that will improve their employability
- Meet income requirements (in our experience, students with an income less than $25,000 per year have received grants, although income guidelines are entirely decided by VSAC)
- Have resided in Vermont for at least one year
- Have been financially independent from their parents/guardians in 2015, 2016, 2017(this means, not living with parents for more than 6 weeks per year, not being claimed as a dependent and not receiving more than $1600 of support per year.
These grants will be available for classes beginning after July 1, 2018.
The grant award amount is based on financial need and the cost of the course. The maximum award amount per term is determined each year by VSAC based on funding availability.
How to Apply:
1.) You can complete the Non-Degree application online or better yet, give VSAC a call directly to have them help assist you. They are really helpful!
Let them know you are applying for a course with our school, Temenos Vermont (formally Shanti Healing Network). You will need to provide the name of the course, and the 'sustaining' level fee of the course. You will also need to provide the course's start date. All of this is found on the course page on this website. Please contact Jenn to confirm course start date.
Applications are also available at Vermont Department of Labor offices, vocational centers, other schools, and VSAC.
Applications are considered on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funding is available.
This grant often takes a month to process, so make sure to apply early. If you get accepted for the grant, just let us know. If you filed taxes in 2016 AND 2017, you will need to send copies of your tax returns and if you did not file, you will need to write a letter explaining why.
**Once you have sent in your application and tax information, please contact us immediately so we can be sure to do our part and accept you on our school's end as an enrolling Temenos VT student!**
